Song: Eyes Under the Christmas Tree ♪

It’s that time of year when Christmas is in the air, and I just happened to be thinking about all the technology in our homes that records our data. So here it is, a traditional Christmas song about getting gifts that invade your privacy.

This song’s written for the Ukulele Underground Live Lesson Challenge, Dec 2018.

The rules were:

  • Key: C
  • Chords: Dm, Em, G, Am
  • Bonus: Augmented chord, Lyrics, 3/4 or 6/8 time signatures.
  • You can also use C major, F major and B diminished.
== Lyrics ==
Christmas morning, lots of new gadgets to switch on.
The first one’s unwrapped, a voice-activated assistant for the home.

We’ve got eyes in the bedroom
Eyes in the TV
Eyes in our pocket
And eyes under the Christmas tree, oh.

Hug me please, I’m your new soft cuddly friend
I’ll watch over you while you sleep, and broadcast it across the ‘net

We’ve got eyes in the bedroom
Eyes in the TV
Eyes in our pocket
And eyes under the Christmas tree, oh.

Oh Santa’s just trying to be nice
He wants you to wake up to a lovely surprise
But Rudolph is really a spy
And the angel on the tree is working for the FBI

I’ve got a vacuum cleaning robot, it takes photos around the house.
And shares them with third parties, so I can see more relevant ads.

We’ve got eyes in the bedroom
Eyes in the TV
Eyes in our pocket
And eyes under the Christmas tree, oh.

We’ve got eyes in the bedroom
Eyes in the TV
Eyes in our pocket
And eyes under the Christmas tree, oh.
On Christmas Eve, yo.
